Houston Chronicle Analyzes the Fairness Doctrine Debate

A Houston Chronicle article on 7 March goes back to the 1940s in a highly factual discussion of how the Fairness Doctrine first arose, when and why it was abandoned, and why both the label and the tactic have been abandoned. Most importantly, it discusses why and how the Democrats have new labels for slightly different tactics to the same end. This article also deals with the financial realities based on audience acceptance, by which stations currently live, or die.
